Happy Father’s Day from a Seattle Family Photographer

Portrait of a father and the twins.  I created this image during recent family photography session.  Seth is a comedian from LA.  I don’t know when the lemons arrived during the photo session.  I think he brought them and nobody questioned it.  I did my work and he did his work, holding children lovingly and handing them lemons to hold and be intrigued with.  I think, the avocado was introduced first but it did not take.  The bottom line is:  Happy Father’s Day!  Let it be love and light!  Happy Solstice as well.  With much love from a Seattle Family Photographer!

Spontaneous Family Portraits, Seattle, WA

Family photography is what I love to do and it happens to be my work!  I am a photographer specializing in spontaneous family portraits.  Photographing children and parents involves both the predictable and the unknown.  My objective in every photo session is to create images that display spontaneity while also expressing the beauty and temperament of the subject. I am not people-shy. I am agile, involved, and active throughout the session.  I focus on the unexpected, humorous, or touching moments that arise during a session.  This spontaneity naturally occurs but can also be instigated through direction by me, the photographer.  Thus I call my style “directed photojournalism”- a balance between the carefree and the guided, with attention to composition and the uniqueness of each subject. All sessions take place under natural light.

I wish you…

This is the image that I closed my busy season to as a Seattle Family Photographer. Now, the New Year 2016 is here.

“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art—write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.” ~ Neil Gaiman

The words I will live my 2016 by. Wishing you the same wholeheartedly.

Happy Holidays from a Seattle Family Photographer!

This is a time when clients send me their cards created with photos made during our family photography sessions.  With that stated I am pausing for just a bit with US champs of freestyle slalom for the observance of the Holiday time and Winter Solstice.  I welcome more light with each day from now on and gear up for a busy 2016.  But for now:  Happy Holidays from Anita Nowacka Photography!

Newborn Photography

Newborn photography, Seattle, WA

I am wishing for spring these days, despite the fact that it is still a long way away.   As of today, we are yet a few days from the longest and darkest winter’s night.
As a natural light photographer, I really do live for those perfect non- rainy days when I can photograph families in Seattle’s bountiful nature: in parks, by the water, with colorful Autumn leaves, and even with props that compliment families, and children, in particular.
Recently on a chilly afternoon as the rain was pouring down, I sat down to look at some of my earlier work.  I ran across a photo session done eight years ago with a couple and their newborn inside their home.
Rather than dwelling on gray skies, I got excited about the thought that I could once again photograph babies within their warm homes, while outdoors the rain beats sidelong across the windowpanes.   My next newsletter will be just about that topic, and before I know it Seattle’s dazzling spring with its perfect days will return, and with it, the ideal conditions for photographing families outside.

Seattle Summer and kid photography, Seattle, WA

This year’s Summer has been incredible.   These images were made what seemed like the last day of it.  We are still hoping for warm days through October.   All will be embraced, however once more: this year’s Summer has been incredible and I loved photographing kids enjoying the sun, water, warmth and beach time till glorious sun sets.

Lifestyle Photography

Family photos for a photographer friend, Seattle, WA

Savanah is an incredible photographer.  Savanah is an incredible mother.  She is an incredible person and a dear friend.  She has two fabulous daughters.  Her daughters took a break from their busy lives and came back home to visit their mother.  I offered to make photos.  We photographed by The Moonbeam, a vintage trailer that has been with the family for many years.  The trailer let them travel in comfort  into many stunning , breathtaking and remote places and remains a family cherished possession and a symbol of good times and togetherness.  And there was Max too.  A relatively new addition to the Moonbeam Team: a gentle mutt with thoughtful eyes and agreeable spirit.

Creative Photography

Creative Seattle Family, Seattle, WA

This family is creative to say the least. I met them through Facebook. I have been following their inventive posts and finally got to photograph them in their cardboard robot costumes made for last year’s Halloween. When I asked the father, a graphic designer, how long did it take to make such detailed robot costumes, he said: “at some point the time blended in together and I stopped counting the hours.” His wife just chuckled and looked lovingly back at him. I caught that look before she put on the robot head piece on…. Photos from the Robot Family Session, soon. For now, just a preview of the family that enjoys time together through art that they create. Working with them inspired me. A bonus to me, a family photographer, always in need of a new vision and an inspiration.
