Seattle Family Photographer

I wish you…

This is the image that I closed my busy season to as a Seattle Family Photographer. Now, the New Year 2016 is here.

“May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art—write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.” ~ Neil Gaiman

The words I will live my 2016 by. Wishing you the same wholeheartedly.

Happy Holidays from a Seattle Family Photographer!

This is a time when clients send me their cards created with photos made during our family photography sessions.  With that stated I am pausing for just a bit with US champs of freestyle slalom for the observance of the Holiday time and Winter Solstice.  I welcome more light with each day from now on and gear up for a busy 2016.  But for now:  Happy Holidays from Anita Nowacka Photography!

Spontaneous Family Photography, Seattle, WA

Photographing families and children involves both the predictable and the unknown.  My objective in every family photo session is to create images that display spontaneity while also expressing the beauty and temperament of the subject.  I am not people-shy. I am agile, involved, and active throughout the session. I focus on the unexpected, humorous, or touching moments that arise during a session.  This spontaneity naturally occurs but can also be instigated through direction by me, the photographer.  Thus I call my style “directed photojournalism”- a balance between the carefree and the guided, with attention to composition and the uniqueness of each subject.  My family photo sessions take place under natural light.  Photos created during a session are a medley of each child’s individual portraits,  the child(ren) with each family member and the family together.  Please, take a look at this family portrait slideshow:

Winter family portraits, Seattle, WA

While winter time offers marvelous light for portraits outside, the city however lends its walls for interesting and sometimes even magical backdrops.  With the perfect light, great subjects and fabulous colors of Seattle’s EMP Museum another winter family photo session was made.

Photography Cards

Holiday Family Portraits, Seattle, WA

Throughout the year I photograph families and this is the grand finale… when families send cards to me with photos that we created together.  This was a family that I photographed in New York in the heart of Central Park.  This memorable time was solidified with kind words and holiday wishes from this client delivered via snail mail.

Seattle Summer and kid photography, Seattle, WA

This year’s Summer has been incredible.   These images were made what seemed like the last day of it.  We are still hoping for warm days through October.   All will be embraced, however once more: this year’s Summer has been incredible and I loved photographing kids enjoying the sun, water, warmth and beach time till glorious sun sets.

Northwest Family Photography, Seattle, WA

As a Seattle photographer, I have acquired a vast portfolio of children and families photographed on our splendid beaches.   Some day, I will put it all together into a book called: Families of the Northwest.  Some day….  But for now, posting this photo of kids playing at the Golden Gardens beach while an amazing Seattle Summer continues.

Wintertime Children's Photography

Seattle’s snow and kid photography. Seattle, WA

Seattle’s snow comes in two times a year for a brief moment and covers the Earth for just enough time to hear a crunch under your boots, to roll down the hill or make a snow man – a dirty snow man, with all the ground picked up in the process of making… I was not commissioned to make these portraits. These are neighborhood kids doing their snow carpe diem while it all lasted: just few hours.
