Happy Father’s Day from a Seattle Family Photographer

Portrait of a father and the twins.  I created this image during recent family photography session.  Seth is a comedian from LA.  I don’t know when the lemons arrived during the photo session.  I think he brought them and nobody questioned it.  I did my work and he did his work, holding children lovingly and handing them lemons to hold and be intrigued with.  I think, the avocado was introduced first but it did not take.  The bottom line is:  Happy Father’s Day!  Let it be love and light!  Happy Solstice as well.  With much love from a Seattle Family Photographer!

Spontaneous Family Portraits, Seattle, WA

Family photography is what I love to do and it happens to be my work!  I am a photographer specializing in spontaneous family portraits.  Photographing children and parents involves both the predictable and the unknown.  My objective in every photo session is to create images that display spontaneity while also expressing the beauty and temperament of the subject. I am not people-shy. I am agile, involved, and active throughout the session.  I focus on the unexpected, humorous, or touching moments that arise during a session.  This spontaneity naturally occurs but can also be instigated through direction by me, the photographer.  Thus I call my style “directed photojournalism”- a balance between the carefree and the guided, with attention to composition and the uniqueness of each subject. All sessions take place under natural light.  Please, take a look at my work:

Seattle Summer and kid photography, Seattle, WA

This year’s Summer has been incredible.   These images were made what seemed like the last day of it.  We are still hoping for warm days through October.   All will be embraced, however once more: this year’s Summer has been incredible and I loved photographing kids enjoying the sun, water, warmth and beach time till glorious sun sets.

Children Photography, Seattle, WA

First Seattle snow of this year! It was just enough of it to throw snowballs, make that snowman, and to play some more. Enough for a kid photographer to get busy and have a great time. Snow is gone by now, but the photos are here:

Children Photography and The Lights of the Holiday Season, Seattle, WA

I remember being a child and being mesmerized by a Holiday twinkle. My father took a photo of me jaw dropping, while looking at the lit up Xmas tree. Decades later, even though so much has changed in this fast paced world, being mesmerized by a Holiday twinkle remains….

Autumn and Kid photography. Seattle, WA

Hats off. Hats on. Hat off and on, over and over again. The in-between is what most interested me. This is just a preview of autumnal children’s portraits I have been making this season. When time allows, there will be a blog post and more photos which show off Seattle’s glorious fall colors, children and families.

A bit of a Summer sum up. Seattle, WA Family Photography

Summer is on its last leg and this image was made in the beginning of it.
It was a good one for me, with many friendships and wishes made. A few interesting roads were traveled as well. Hope the same goes for you. I look forward to more as I watch shadows get longer while I photograph families this Fall.

The Order of Things. Toddler photography in Seattle,WA

Upon arriving at a photo session, I was told that kids would be eating black berries as the last thing, so as not to mess up hands, attire and all in site….. We soon found out that eating berries was the first thing on the agenda and it was non-negotiable. Hey! Kids know their priorities….
